With Godzilla: King of Monsters not headed to theaters until 2019, things are slowly starting to come together. For one, we already know that Max Borenstein, Michael Dougherty and Zach Shields will write the screenplay. Now, it looks like Dougherty will also step into the director’s chair, according to Variety.
The sequel’s plot remains unknown, but I assume it’s going to have some continuity with the 2014 reboot starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.
Legendary and Warner Bros.  previously announced that they were teaming up to release future King Kong and Godzilla films as part of a shared universe. Kong: Skull Island, slated for release on March 10, will be the first on their agenda. Next, Godzilla 2 heads to theaters on Mar. 22, 2019 and Godzilla vs. Kong will be released on May 29, 2020.
Are you excited for this?
