‘Get a grip man’: Mike Johnson claims Rep. Grijalva is making TikTok videos instead of working, forgets that he hasn’t sworn her in yet
One of the people who has been consistently speaking nonsense during the ongoing United States government shutdown, besides President Donald Trump, is definitely Republican leaning House Speaker Mike Johnson. The man has appeared almost every day in front of the press and blatantly lied.
Mike Johnson is lying once again. You might think one would get used to his falsehoods by now, but every time he opens his mouth, he just one-ups himself in his own game. This time, he is accusing Representative Adelita Grijalva of spending her time doing TikTok videos instead of working in a role she does not hold yet, thanks to him. Johnson made these allegations recently during an interaction with the Wall Street Journal Opinion, where he said:
“I’ve told Rep. Grijalva… she needs to get to work. She needs to stop doing TikTok videos and serve her constituents… In the meantime, she should be taking her constituents’ calls. She should have her 16 employees… Her constituents have serious challenges and problems right now.”
Johnson also added that while Rep. Grijalva works in the role she still does not have, she could help with the “crisis” the Democrats had created, referring to the government shutdown. Um, more like the catastrophe the Republicans had caused. But okay.
Johnson’s out-of-proportion comments found an audience in multiple people who saw videos of the incident on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter). One user, while highlighting the ridiculousness of his claims, wrote:
“Yes, she should accomplish all these things when: her office door is locked, she had been given no key,no telephone, no internet, no password, no budget…. get a grip man.”
Another person mentioned a similar thing and wrote:
“She literally cannot do ANYTHING until she’s sworn in, and you know it. She’s unable to act in her official capacity UNTIL SHE’S BEEN SWORN IN! QUIT STALLING.”
The verdict is in, and the American people are no longer taking Mike Johnson or any other Republicans seriously. If it is not their questionable leadership skills, their deceptions will ultimately lead to their downfall.
