Former Victoria's Secret Employee Says People Should Check Their Receipts: 'Victoria Ain't Keeping HIS Secret'

There are people who are simply so shameless about cheating on their significant others. Thankfully, some Victoria’s Secret employees won’t stand for it—at least, that’s what Paris Mwendwa (@parismwendwa) told TikTok. As a former employee of the famous lingerie retailer, Mwendwa shared how some VS employees expose infidelity.

In her video on TikTok titled “Beware if your man gets you a gift from VS (as an ex-VS employee),” Mwendwa explained that she had seen her fair share of unfaithful men.

“Pay attention to the receipt,” she prefaced. “One time, this man came in, and I was helping him.”

Mwendwa thought that the man was just shopping for his girlfriend. He claimed that it was her birthday and that he needed to get her some items. She suggested several items to help her out—overall, it seemed like the average, friendly customer and employee interaction.

Once they filled out the bag, the man then informed Mwendwa that he needed to shop for his wife next. She did a double-take, confused by the man’s words. Then, he confirmed that he, in fact, also had to do some shopping for his wife.

“We go through the store again, and he basically ended up getting her the same things—just in a different color,” Mwendwa recalled. He instructed her to put the items in separate bags and invoice separate receipts.

How some Victoria’s Secret employees bust a cheater

Once he left, Mwendwa went to her manager to share the bizarre experience.

“This guy just went in and had me, like, make a bag for his wife and girlfriend,” Mwendwa mentioned to her manager.

“Whenever I do that, I will switch the receipts so that they get each other’s receipt items, especially if they got different things—different sizes. So, they come back, and they always end up having to do a return because the man doesn’t know what the girl wants,” the manager told Mwendwa at the time. Essentially, the manager plants into the women’s heads that there may be something suspicious about their partner’s purchase.

And when the women notice that the items are not similar to those listed in the receipt, it might prompt them into investigating further.

“Some VS employees are doing that intentionally,” Mwendwa said, and her thoughts blew up on TikTok. People who claimed to be former Victoria’s Secret employees shared their stories in the comments.

An open secret among retail workers

One ex-manager wrote, “As an ex manager this is VERY common.”

Another former employee said, “As an ex VS employee as well I can confirm this happens… Often.”

An ex-employee alleged, “I worked at VS and Sephora. They get the side pieces the better gift and if it’s the same like a fragrance the side piece get the larger size.”

But it wasn’t just VS—two alleged employees of other popular retail brands came forward about similar experiences.

One person who claimed to work for Pandora wrote, “This happens at Pandora too.”

Another alleged Swarovski employee claimed, “As a Swarovski employee, we get this too AND I TOO SWITCH RECEIPTS!!”

But TikTok also praised the retail workers who were subtly doing the right thing. They didn’t need to do it—it’s their customer’s business, after all. But they’re doing it anyway as a way to look out for other women.

One comment praised Mwendwa’s manager and other employees who do the same thing with receipts, calling them “the real Victoria’s Secret angels.”

Someone else jokingly wrote, “Victoria ain’t keeping HIS secret.”
