Florida Woman Took Her Husband to The Sound of Music Bus Tour. It Took Longer Than Expected 'I Couldn't Do This Sober.'

When Austria comes to mind, The Sound of Music might be the first thought that crops up for theater fans. Kyla Park (@kylampark) booked a musical bus tour with her husband, and she had no idea what she got herself into until two hours in.

“My sweet husband came on The Sound of Music Tour with me,” Park said on TikTok. She also noted that he “did not like it.” Evidently, the man looked as though he were forcing a smile. Originally from Florida, the couple went on a trip to Austria. Nothing could be more on theme than to hear tunes from the movie musical. The Austrian Alps, which was featured in the film, could be seen near Salzburg.

“Then I realized it was a 5-hour tour,” Park said. She thought it would last only two hours at most, but she was mistaken. Even though the movie is two hours and fifty-four minutes long. By all means, it’s not a short movie. But for a tour to last five hours, it must mean they’d replayed some of the songs.

The Sound of Music never ends

Park panned her camera to the bus conductor, who had a cutout mask of Julie Andrews. He wasn’t even singing—they were just playing the Sound of Music theme on the radio while he was waving his hand as though the ride were a concert.

Noticeably, there were many passengers in front with graying hair. It seemed like they had a less than enthusiastic group with them on the bus as well.

Then, the conductor started moving around with a goat puppet while ‘The Lonely Goatherd’ played on the radio. At this point, Park’s husband gave her a disappointed glare. Then the conductor started waving the goat puppet in his face. Although he was initially not amused by the idea of having to do a musical bus tour, even he was laughing by the end of it with Park.

Social media couldn’t get enough of the strange musical tour bus

Social media had a lot of questions for Park, who unwittingly booked a five-hour musical tour with her husband. Most people would take a look at the hours of a play or even a bus trip, but that seems to have flown over Park’s head.

One commenter reacted, “You guys lowered the average age of the bus.”

Another person said, “FIVE hours?! The movie ain’t even that long.”

Others were commending Park’s husband for going along with his wife’s whimsical bus tour wish.

Someone commented, “The fact that he was just laughing and accepting his fate rather than getting progressively more silent and upset. He’s a gem.”

Another comment reads, “The fact he was willing to do two hours even, my husband would never! Claps to your man.”

But apparently, some other people have also experienced the bus tour on TikTok.

One person said, “My poor husband had to suffer through it, too.”

Another wrote, “We did this same tour! I didnt realize it was a singalong and my husband was less than amused. Meanwhile I loved every minute!” They even inserted a photo with the goat puppet in the bus with them to show that they’d been to the same tour.

But one commenter summarized how many people on the internet felt about this strange musical bus tour. They said, “I couldn’t do this sober.”

Surely, this bus tour would make anyone question their sobriety upon seeing the random goat puppet and the Julie Andrews face cutout mask.
