Wordle has wormed its way into our hearts since it hit the internet in late 2021. The simple premise of figuring out a five-letter word (in the allotted 6 tries) keeps people hooked. There is something immensely satisfying about finding the answer and keeping track of your ongoing score. If you are anything like me, solving the new puzzle has become a part of your daily routine. My mornings begin with a cup of coffee and Wordle. My family knows not to bother me when those little squares are on my phone screen.
Admittedly, some puzzles are easier to solve than others. When The New York Times purchased the site, many players claimed it got harder to get the correct answer. We use some word setups less often than others, making those much more difficult. One notoriously hard configuration is words that end in “x.” Off the top of my head, I can only think of a few, leaving my options limited. To help us all in our Wordle struggles, I looked up over 60 words that end in the letter x. It’s not cheating! It’s studying! What, we can’t better ourselves now?

I like to start my Wordle game off with an odd word that uses as many different letters as possible, aiming to land at least one on the first try. These words fit that bill. I was surprised by how many words ended in x, but I looked up the definitions, and they are legitimate. Hopefully, these words will assist you in keeping your Wordle streaks unbroken.
