Fans of Star Trek and Cooking, Your Time Has Come With the Arrival of the New Le Creuset Star Trek Collection

Fans of Star Trek who also love cooking, rejoice, because your time has come. Le Creuset, the French-Belgian cookware creator known for its colorful pieces, has just released a new limited-edition Star Trek collection to celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary. These 12 pieces may not help you synthesize the perfect meal on demand, like on the show, but they’ll definitely up your game in the kitchen.

Though the collection has only just gone on sale, it has been in the works for years, as Le Creuset sought out Paramount about the collaboration far in advance to release it for this anniversary. This is far from Le Creuset’s first time tying kitchenware to popular media, too, as the company released a Pokémon collection in 2024.

The 12-Piece Set Is a Dream for Star Trek Fans

Chief Marketing Officer at Le Creuset, Christopher Scinto, explained the collaboration, per Gizmodo, “With the Le Creuset x Star Trek Collection, we set out to commemorate some of the franchise’s most beloved symbols with our signature craftsmanship and iconic colors and designs […] each piece blends exceptional culinary performance with true intergalactic fandom.”

The Star Trek Collection from Le Creuset, celebrating the show’s 60th anniversary, includes several items, including a cheese grater shaped like a Star Trek communicator, cleverly named the “Communi-Grater.” Also in the mix is the Live Long & Prosper oven mitt shaped like the classic Vulcan salute, along with a Live Long & Prosper spoon rest.

The collection also includes larger cookware items, such as the Star Trek Collection Enterprise Round Dutch Oven with Starfleet Delta Knob and the Star Trek Collection Klingon Round Braiser with Klingon Trefoil Knob. Also available is the Star Trek Collection Galileo Shuttlecraft Rectangular Covered Casserole (shoppers should check out the tiramisu recipe recommended for this one, too, as it looks delicious).

Several smaller kitchenware items are also available for those who don’t want to shell out for something as pricey as a Dutch oven. These include the Talosian Mini Cocotte, the Balok Mini Cocotte, the Gorn Mini Cocotte, a Spock mug, a Klingon Trefoil Knob, and a Starfleet Delta Knob.

Prices for the cookware range from $40 to $500.

Le Creuset Actually Sent the Dutch Oven Into Space

For those who might have concerns about how well this cookware collection will hold up, Le Creuset sent the Dutch oven into space with the help of Sent Into Space. The piece reached approximately 111,000 feet above the Earth, where it remained for a little over an hour, enduring temperatures down to -63.4°C. During its descent, the Dutch oven at times reached speeds of around 300 mph.

According to Wired, Chris Rose, co-founder of Sent Into Space, when describing the logistics behind the stunt, explained, “Because of the weight, we had to give some serious consideration to how we were going to hold things, making sure everything was very balanced.”

The Dutch oven looked just as good when it returned to Earth as it did when it launched, showing it can hold up even in extreme circumstances. Most likely, the same can be said for the other cookware pieces.
