At CinemaCon, the cast of Thunderbolts* took to the stage to promote the upcoming Marvel movie. It led to everyone questioning if Wyatt Russell was okay (affectionately). Russell did a bit where he was “late” because he was drinking and gambling in the casino beforehand.

Those of us in attendance knew that it was a joke and had a lot of fun watching the cast all rib him about it. But apparently there were some who heard about it and thought it was real. The Disney panel allowed for recording so the bit that the cast did had footage out in the world. It showed Russell with his hair a mess and his shirt unbottoned.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? Well, not if you’re the cast of the hip new Marvel movie and we were all allowed to film it.

Now, Russell is dealing with people thinking the joke was real. In a recent interview with Mama’s Geeky, journalist Tessa Smith brought up the moment and talked about being in the room when it happened. “Everybody thought it was real,” Russell shared. “I was like ‘Nobody’s going to see this, are they?’ And they’re like ‘Oh, no no. It’s for the audience.’ Cut to like an hour and a half later and my wife, she’s like ‘That was funny.'”

Russell went on to ask what she saw and she responded by saying “You were drunk, the drunk bit. But the thing is, everybody thinks you’re actually drunk and gambling.” He went on to talk about how it was gun because the cast of Thunderbolts* is a “really fun group of people.”

It is almost time for Thunderbolts* and we cannot wait to see Russell back in action as John Walker!
