Man goes to Disneyland with family. Then he notices something bizarre about the drinking water–and issues a warning: ‘What’s going on?’

One of the most important parts of any Disneyland trip isn’t necessarily rides, excursions or even seeing the characters; it’s staying hydrated enough to keep moving. Luckily, Disneyland has a variety of water bottle stations that are ready for guests who need hydration. But what happens when a guest notices something’s off with the water?
That’s what happened during Frag-Tech’s (@fragtechmenance) recent visit to the park. The content creator went to the California-based park in Anaheim. Then he noticed that the water coming out of the faucets was cloudy.
He posted multiple videos discussing the water, with the first video in his series receiving more than 7.7 million views. The content creator explained in later videos that water at Disney California Adventure Park wasn’t cloudy. But when he returned to the main park, he noticed the cloudy water again.
What’s The Deal With The Cloudy Water?
While visiting Disneyland, Frag-Tech saw that at certain water faucets, the fountain dispensed cloudy water. When the content creator would shake his bottle or let the water sit, it would suddenly become clear.
“I have an empty cup, nothing in there, completely empty. There’s nothing in there,” he said in his first video. “All right, help me out. So I’m filling it up. Keep squeezing it. All right. The water is cloudy. I didn’t add anything to it, it’s just the water.”
Frag-Tech asked a few of the workers nearby why the water was cloudy, but he said they didn’t know. In a subsequent video, he visited Disney California Adventure Park. The water was clear from the beginning there. When he returned again to Disneyland during the evening, he noticed the water was still cloudy.
@fragtechmenance Look at your water before you drink it. I had been drinking this water all day and at one point I kept it open and I looked inside it and noticed the color of it. Stay aware ##disneyland##water ♬ original sound – Frag-Tech
Was The Water Safe To Drink?
The biggest reason tap water can appear cloudy is trapped air bubbles. According to Water Purification Guide, an online site dedicated to water filtration and purification, “High water pressure makes the air more soluble, resulting in more air bubbles forming, thus making the water look cloudy. The amount of air trapped in your water can also be due to recent plumbing work.”
The publication recommends leaving water in a cup for five minutes to release any trapped air. If the water is still cloudy, it could be because of hard water or air temperature.
Other websites, such as Tap Water Data, say that cloudy tap water is usually harmless. The website adds, “if the cloudiness clears from bottom to top within minutes, dissolved air is escaping from pressurized pipes—completely safe to drink.”
What Did Viewers Say?
Viewers generally agreed that Frag-Tech was seeing a result of trapped air bubbles, not a dangerous hazard.
“Don’t worry, it’s not pollution! The water comes out under high pressure, which traps some air bubbles and causes this white color. As soon as you let it sit for a moment, the air escapes, and the water becomes clear,” one viewer said.
Others asked why the content creator continued questioning the water in later updates, even after he was told it was safe to drink.
“Did you spend your fun day inspecting water?” one viewer asked.
Another person commented, “Why ask if you aren’t gonna do your own research orrrr listen to the comments that have???”
