Department of Justice releases and then retracts a fake 12-second video showing Jeffrey Epstein during a critical moment

Under the current administration, the Department of Justice has become a joke. Since her appointment, without a doubt, the department’s head, Pam Bondi, has seemed to focus more on serving the interests of President Donald Trump than on those of the American public.

In the past few days, there has been a lot of talk about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. After facing pressure from various individuals in the current administration, which includes both Democrats and Republicans, the Department of Justice has only recently begun to release evidence related to the Epstein case. On Monday, they disclosed a significant amount of information regarding the investigation. Among the documents were numerous photographs and PDF files from the Epstein Files and other sources. The photographs featured several well-known public figures, including Bill Clinton, Steve Bannon, Woody Allen, and Noam Chomsky, among others. While opinions on this vary among different groups, many have pointed out the notable absence of one individual from these released documents- Donald Trump, who was once believed to be very close to Jeffrey Epstein but allegedly cut ties upon learning of Epstein’s wrongdoings. This led people on the internet to do their own digging, leading them to discover methods to uncover the redacted sections of certain documents released by the DOJ, which contained multiple mentions of Trump. Further investigations revealed that the DOJ’s website had blocked searches for “Trump” on certain documents, and only when users searched for “Trump ” (with a space after his last name) did his name appear over six hundred times in the documents. Unbelievable, right? Clearly, this is not a job well executed.

People online also uncovered another falsehood from the United States Department of Justice regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case. On Monday, the department released a 12-second video that allegedly shows Epstein in his jail cell trying to take his life. While this video was included with the other documents released that day, it was one of the few pieces of information that was removed from the website, which understandably raised questions among the public. Internet users began to dig deeper into the details of the uploaded and deleted video, discovering that the clip was actually fake. The video has origins as early as 2019-2020 and was created using computer-generated 3D animation. This raised many questions for the public. Firstly, why would a credible government agency release a clip that wasn’t authentic, and secondly, what were they trying to prove with that? These questions are still lingering in the minds of the public, as they remain unanswered, and given how things operate under the current administration, I don’t think they will ever be addressed.
