A series of facts:
DC Nation is a name that DC Comics have used for years to refer to it’s editorial page, and as the name of its online company news blog.
Cartoon Network Announced thirteen new shows today
Including one called DC Nation.
CN’s description is light on details:
DC Nation: A multi-platform, branded block of original programming and exclusive content based on the DC Comics library of legendary character properties, DC Nation is developed in partnership with Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. The all-new venture will harness the publishing, theatrical and television assets together for one powerful on-air block on Cartoon Network with exclusive online content.
A series of questions:
Is this a show just about… DC news? Like, if it were going to be a variety show about DC characters, wouldn’t they be talking about who was going to appear, and what voice talent was being brought in? Deadline says: the show will be “populated with event programming, interstitials, exclusive behind-the-scenes of theatrical production and an insider look into the world of all things DC.”
Is there anyone out there who would get excited about an Entertainment Tonight that was just about DC Comics? Hell, I wade hip deep in this stuff every day and buy 1-3 DC comics a week, and I can tell you quickly and emphatically, no I do not care in the slightest.
Why is Cyborg up there? I mean, I love the dude, but he’s no Justice Leaguer.
Oh, he is now? That is, when the writers remember that he is?
Huh.
