Customer refuses to let black Louisiana cashier touch his wine bottle. Then he allegedly made a vile remark: ‘Greasy nappy hair fingers’
Someone had to touch it first

A cashier’s job is to scan items and complete purchases. However, one Louisiana worker claims a customer took issue with something as ordinary as her touching his wine bottle. His alleged explanation made the encounter even more disturbing.
The customer apparently had no problem picking up a bottle that other people may have handled before him. Yet when the Black cashier reached for it, he reportedly objected. What happened next turned an otherwise routine trip to the register into something far more uncomfortable.
TikTok user @ki3vzzzz, who goes by K!3VZ, shared surveillance footage of the encounter in a video that has attracted 242.8K views. She alleges that the man refused to let her handle his wine because he did not want her touching it with her “greasy nappy hair fingers.”
The internet had something to say
The footage shows the customer approaching the register with a bottle of wine after another shopper finishes checking out. When the cashier reaches for it, the man appears reluctant to release it. They briefly hold the bottle at the same time before she lets go.
He then moves it across the checkout equipment himself. When the employee reaches for it again, he takes it back and walks away before the transaction is completed. According to her account, he picked out a different bottle and brought it to another cashier.
The worker alleged that “he didn’t like the idea of me touching it with my ‘greasy nappy hair fingers.’” In the video’s caption, she added, “it’s funny cause he was tripping before I even used that hand.”
There is no original audio accompanying the surveillance footage, meaning the alleged remark cannot be independently verified from the clip. The cashier nevertheless stood by her account and claimed the man was a regular customer who had caused problems at the store before.
She also claimed her coworkers did not believe the incident needed to be escalated, so no further action was taken at the time. It is unclear whether management later addressed what happened. For retail workers, even seemingly minor interactions at the checkout counter can quickly become much more complicated.
Viewers questioned how the bottle had reached the shelf in the first place. “Who he thinks put it on the shelf???! WTH,” one commenter asked. Another wrote, “On his walk back to grab a different one I would’ve yelled ‘I stocked the shelves too!’”
Others questioned why he chose her register at all. “Why even come in my lineeeee,” one person wrote. Another asked, “Why didn’t he just go to self check out then?”
Some viewers believed the cashier should have refused service. “Idk what the rules r over there but where i am at alcohol sales r at my discretion and i can say no to whoever i want,” one commented. Another suggested, “Report it to your manager and have him trespassed/banned. If they refuse to follow up file with the eeoc.”
One commenter acknowledged the difficulty of dealing with hostile customers while depending on a paycheck. “I’ll refuse to serve him. We gotta stand up but I understand bill still gonna be due regardless. I hate this America,” they wrote.
Others suggested ways to handle the situation. “Immediately would’ve been like ‘now I gotta see your ID’ and watch his face explode with frustration,” one viewer wrote. They continued, “Yes, I gotta physically hold your ID to read it, feel it, and scan it to make sure it’s real or else you’re not getting any alcohol today.”
The customer has not publicly shared his account of the encounter. His version of events remains unknown.
