‘Confirmation from an insider’: Marjorie Taylor Greene exposes that many Republicans back Trump out of fear of a ‘nasty’ surprise

In a recently shared social media clip, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pointed out that Marjorie Taylor Greene’s vocal opposition to Donald Trump is due to his refusal to support her Senate bid. She also highlighted that for the same reason, she has been on a “revenge” tour, speaking ill of Trump and her Republican Party members. And, honestly, it is all starting to make sense.

In the past couple of weeks, Marjorie Taylor Greene has made multiple public appearances where she has openly criticised Donald Trump and members of her party, emphasising their incompetence in fulfilling government functions. Some of the areas where she has especially vocalised her grievances against the current government include the release of the controversial Epstein Files, escalating rent prices, growing inflation, a focus on building international friendships rather than on national welfare, H-1B visas, and the absence of a healthcare bill to replace Obamacare. In recent times, she has also been vocal about the hate directed at her due to Donald Trump’s ongoing rhetoric, wherein he has referred to her as a “traitor” during press interactions and on social media platforms, especially on Truth Social. Greene admits that this has made her the target of cyberbullying, even receiving death threats from people. Recently, she also revealed her plans to retire from her position starting January 5, which has raised concerns for Trump and the Republican Party. They may not be accepting it publicly, but if you have been following American politics for the last couple of years, you would know that Marjorie Taylor Greene has been at the centre of the MAGA movement. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for her vocal support during the 2024 presidential elections, I doubt Donald Trump would have won.

With that said, Marjorie Taylor Greene is clarifying once more that she continues to hold an anti-Trump stance. Appearing in the latest episode of 60 Minutes, she revealed that many of her Republican colleagues share her complaints about Donald Trump, but they are hesitant to voice them, fearing the repercussions, one of which is having a “nasty Truth Social post directed at them.” When asked about the things other Republicans say behind Trump’s back, MTG mentioned that she has observed people transition from mocking Trump in general, his way of speaking, to “kissing his a**” after he won the primary in 2024. Her comments have led to significant discussions, especially on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter).
