Compressed 02 by Kim Pimmel is bound to be the coolest dye-in-soap-bubbles time-lapse short film you’ve ever seen. There are two dueling, highly visible liquids at work here: The black ferrofluid and the red dye. Coincidentally, there are two invisible forces at work as well: Capillary action and magnetism. Together, they create a mesmerizing dance of color that outlines the vacancy of the bubbles as they pulsate around a dense black center. Maybe there’s some kind of metaphor here, but the main point I’m trying to get across is that it looks really, really neat. Neat like an awesome thing that looks cool.
