Charli D’Amelio Reveals ‘Mental Health Keeps Declining’ After Unfollowing Parents as Dad Says He Has ‘The Receipts’

Charli D’Amelio delivered fans an update in a recent YouTube AMA, admitting that her mental health was declining. The news comes amid rumors that the social media personality has become estranged from her family.

D’Amelio recorded responses to fan questions while hiking. Questions ranged from relatively light topics, such as “New York or LA?” to more deep subjects such as what is “the biggest challenge of being 22?”

Charli took the time to go in depth with the latter question, getting surprisingly honest and raw. “My mental health keeps declining,” she told viewers, before adding, “The age keeps going up but the number of therapy sessions keep going up too.”

The singer, who was at one point, TikTok’s biggest star, went on to say how the hardest part of being 22 was “fully being in charge for the first time,” mentioning how she didn’t have “the guidance or the mentors to tell me, or help me, or guide me for what decisions I should make or the life I want to live.” Her mental health struggles have only amplified rumors of a possible rift between D’Amelio and her parents.

What’s happening between Charli D’Amelio and her parents?

A few months ago D’Amelio returned to YouTube after a four month hiatus which coincidentally synced with fan speculation that she had become estranged from her parents, reports EOnline. In late 2025 fans noticed that Charli no longer followed Heidi and Marc D’Amelio and the couple of 26 years no longer followed her.

The rumors began swirling and only got worse when netizens realized that Charli and her sister Dixie D’Amelio had also stopped posting about their family’s popcorn company, Be Happy Snacks, around the same time. People later confirmed that Charli was no longer involved in the family business.

Charli D’Amelio has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors regarding the family rift although she has suggested she may talk about it in a video dedicated to what’s been happening the past few months. “I would love to be able to really explain what was going on over those few months,” she said in her newest video, “but that means dedicated time because it was very sensitive.”

Parents’ response

Meanwhile her parents have addressed the rumors with her father responding to a post from Deuxmoi where he denied the claim that Charli had “discovered millions of dollars had been transferred out of accounts that were established during the years her career was managed by her parents.” This is what allegedly caused the rift.

“This is not true.” Marc D’Amelio wrote in a comment on the Instagram post. He claimed that Charli was being manipulated and seemed to suggest he would come forward with his side along with evidence to back his claims up, stating, “I have the receipts.” What exactly those receipts are remain to be seen but Marc has promised he will “set the record straight.”
