Are you looking for a new female-driven period piece? Cable Girls might be your new favorite show as the first trailer introduces us to four women beginning jobs as switchboard operators at a telephone company in 1920s Madrid. With this newfound independence comes a fight for freedom, friendship, and romantic pursuits.

The upcoming series is the first Netflix original from Spain, produced by Bambú Producciones. Cable Girls stars Blanca Suárez, Ana Fernández, Nadia de Santiago, Maggie Civantos, Ana Polvorosa, Yon González, and Martiño Rivas. I’m already in love with this group of women, and I’m excited to see how each of their journeys will unfold. From these clips, the show already promises long-lost loves, fighting back against abusive or misogynistic men, and getting arrested for freedom. What more could you ask for? Also, the look of 1920s Madrid is so vivid and Cable Girls promises to be an extremely stylish show.

Cable Girls, or Las chicas del cable arrives on Netflix April 28, 2017. Are you going to check it out?
