Man says his Bumble date catfished him, but what she did in a parking lot left him stunned
His bowling date somehow ended with an unexpected bathroom break and a pair of abandoned glasses.
Bad dates are practically a dating app rite of passage, but one man’s night out with a Bumble match really bowled him over for all the wrong reasons. What started with a supposed “catfish” ended in a parking lot, where his date decided that nearby bathrooms were more of a suggestion than a necessity.
TikTok user @Attaserg shared the disastrous date in a video that has racked up around 2.1 million views. The pair met on Bumble and agreed to go bowling despite barely talking beforehand. In hindsight, he considers that mistake number two, with their meeting on Bumble taking first place.
Things were already rolling downhill when he picked her up and claimed she looked noticeably different from her profile photos, earning her the “catfish” label in his retelling. Yet one bowling game and a bathroom emergency later, a few misleading profile photos were no longer his biggest problem. He had bigger fish to fry, because his date had a few more strikes left to throw.
Somehow, bowling was the normal part
On their way to the bowling alley, @Attaserg said he tried to learn more about his date by asking about school and work. According to his account, she told him she didn’t “believe in school” and wasn’t interested in working at the moment. She had considered becoming a tattoo artist, too, but apparently crossed that off the career list because it sounded “kinda hard.”
Somehow, they still made it to bowling. The content creator decided to call the date after just one game and drive her home, but they made one last pit stop for food. After they ate in the parking lot, his date announced she needed to use the bathroom, and this is where the evening really went down the drain.
@Attaserg said he offered to take her inside the In-N-Out Burger or stop at a gas station if she couldn’t wait until they reached her home. Instead, he claimed she stepped out of his car, walked roughly 20 feet away, and squatted in the parking lot to relieve herself. When nature called, she apparently wasn’t interested in answering it indoors.
The man was understandably caught off guard by the outdoor business meeting and admitted that, for a moment, he considered tossing her purse out of the car and leaving. Before he could make a move, she had returned to the vehicle, unknowingly foiling his escape plan. He ultimately stayed put and drove her home.
She apparently thought date number two was still happening
Oddly enough, his date seemed to think the night had gone rather well. After being dropped off, she suggested they do it again sometime. He agreed to text her, although his retelling makes one thing crystal clear: a sequel was never on his schedule.
There was just one thing standing between him and a clean getaway. He had handed over his glasses for safekeeping while they were bowling, only to realize she still had them. His date later sent him a photo of the forgotten pair on Snapchat alongside a confident message: “Now you have to see me again.”
If the glasses were supposed to secure her a second look, the plan was a little short-sighted. He simply told her to keep them and promptly blocked her.
Meanwhile, TikTok wasn’t entirely convinced that he’d just survived the romantic disaster of the century. Some pointed out that an awkward night of bowling and questionable bathroom etiquette can look pretty tame next to the genuinely dangerous dates women sometimes encounter. Other dating horror stories include women who either booked a flight to escape a date or narrowly evaded joining a cult. The criticism didn’t exactly knock his story off the leaderboard, though. By his own ranking, this wasn’t even the worst date of his life.
His caption identifies the Bumble adventure as his “3rd worst date.” Somewhere out there are dates number one and two, and we don’t want to know how they outrank this one. Perhaps it was worth it to sacrifice his eyewear for never having to schedule date number two with the woman who went number two in a parking lot.
