‘Biggest thing to happen’: Donald Trump’s math skills are as bankrupt as his casinos as he claims he’ll cut drug prices by 700%

Donald Trump and absurd claims go hand in hand. Since becoming president for a second term this year, Trump has made multiple promises that are practically impossible for him to fulfil unless he figures out a way to bend time and space.
Donald Trump is vowing to reduce drug prices under his administration, not by 20 or 30 per cent, not even 60 or 70 per cent, but by 700 per cent. Yes, you heard that right, the United States president is willing to offer consumers money for purchasing medicines. As ridiculous as it sounds, that is what he is saying during a recent media interaction. While being interviewed by journalists recently on board Air Force One, Trump said that his policies related to the Department of Medicine will bring down drug costs by “500, 600, 700 per cent”, which is the lowest for “anywhere in the world.” He also boasted about the impossible achievement, saying that it is “probably the biggest thing to happen in medicine in the last 100 years.”
Trump’s comments regarding reducing drug prices in America by more than 100 per cent have drawn significant laughter on social media as well as an equal amount of criticism due to the apparent lack of understanding on his part. On X (formerly Twitter), many users have mockingly discussed his statements. One individual remarked:
“Is it possible that he is completely illiterate at mathematics? It is impossible to reduce the price of a product below zero. A 100% reduction means that the product is priced at zero: in other words, free. He keeps making this absurd statement. He must believe MAGA is stupid.”
Another person made a similar observation, stating:
“Others have certainly made the same obvious observation, but the Donald’s math skills … !! – 50% reduction = half, 100% reduction = you pay nothing. “500,600,700% ? Will we now be paid to consume drugs?!”
Many others echoed similar thoughts about Donald Trump’s comments, criticising his lack of intellect. Some even called for his resignation, deeming him unfit to serve as President of the United States.
