The Power Rangers reboot has finally completed casting its core team with today’s announcement that Becky Gomez will play the role of the Yellow Ranger. Gomez, better known among pop-rap and Latin music fans as Becky G, has a lot of experience already as an up-and-coming musician — but not as much exposure as an actor as yet, though she has appeared in several episodes of the FOX hit, Empire!
It’s cool to finally see all of the young faces of the whole team via the Power Rangers Instagram — there are a lot of unknown talents on board here, and it seems like a pretty awesome opportunity for all of them. Here’s hoping they’ll end up with a great script so that these five “teenagers with attitude” can best rise to the occasion!
