Last Night Shuttle Launch Makes for Beautiful Astronomy Picture of the Day

It safe to say that a lot of the people here are geeks.  So, you may have already seen today’s Astronomy Picture of the Day.  If you haven’t, it’s quite pretty.

Waterway to Orbit was made by taking a two minute exposure of Monday’s shuttle launch from Ponte Verde, Florida, more than one hundred miles north of Kennedy Space Center.  It was the last planned night-time launch for NASA’s space shuttle program.
