Batman: Year One was literally the first superhero book I ever bought, not the first Batman book, the first superhero book, period. So please excuse me while I gush.

Ohmigosh that’s got to be from the part where he’s stuck in an abandoned building and they firebomb it and send in three swat teams and he gets shot twice AND HE STILL KICKS ALL OF THEIR ASSES.

But aside from nice art of some of the book’s most iconic sequences, there’s also a great cast lineup.

Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle, Breaking Bad) is in as James Gordon (who is arguably just as big a role in the book as Bruce Wayne), Ben McKenzie of The OC will be Bruce, Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse) will play Selina Kyle (who does become Catwoman over the course of the story), and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, natch) will play Sarah Essen (the woman that James Gordon eventually leaves his wife for).

More gushing, excuse me: Ohmigosh it’s so pretty.

Bruce Tim, who is involved with the project, says that it’ll be shown at San Diego Comic-Con, so maybe we can expect the release this fall?

Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
