There’s a New Batgirl Making Her Debut Today

Batman Beyond Unlimited‘s AnnieWu-illustrated person-of-color Batgirl makes her print debut today in an issue that opens with a full page panel of silver-haired, bespectacled Commissioner Barbara Gordon bailing out of her exploding squad car and landing on two rioting street thugs. Seriously. You can read the preview here. This new Batgirl Beyond will have her story told in three parts of the digital first series: one of them was released online last week. But if you’re impatient for the whole story, it’s been collected in a print issue that hits shelves today.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
