AMC Doctor Strange Popcorn Vessel

AMC “Summons Something Savory” in the Multiverse of Madness With Doctor Strange Popcorn Vessel

AMC popped off with this one.

With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness set to release this weekend, AMC Theaters all across the country are ready to offer a perfectly poppable collectible for fans. Beginning, well, tonight, you can eat your popcorn in a Doctor Strange themed “vessel” that looks like it’s meant for something more important than “shareable movie snack holder,” but as long as you aren’t warping time and reality, you should be good to go on the salt and butter.

Conjure up your cravings

Exclusive to AMC Theaters, the vessel (I adore that they call it that) includes a large popcorn and costs $24.99 plus tax. If you’re trying to justify any desire you might have to spend the money on it, think of it like this: a large popcorn costs close to $10, so you’re really only paying an extra $15 to get a themed bucket. That’s if you’re trying to justify it to yourself, assuming you’re interested. I, on the other hand, think it looks pretty rad and would set it up on a shelf full of Doctor Strange-themed merch (read: FUNKO Pops). I’ve accepted my status as “yes I will take the limited edition item with my (insert geek thing of choice)” a long time ago.

This is similar to The Batman bucket that AMC released where you could eat popcorn out of Robert Pattison’s head. The box is definitely less morbid to think about (and $2 cheaper).

Which theaters are participating?

The one downside to this campaign is that a lot of folks already got their tickets, so now they have to hope that the offer is happening at their particular AMC. Fortunately, there’s a list of participating theaters by state, and it looks like a LOT of them will have popcorn vessels (giggle, vessels) available.

One thing to keep in mind is that this offer is only “while supplies last.” Of course, there’s no word on how many vessels each theater has, but I’m guessing they’ll run out by opening weekend (or earlier). And yes, this is the kind of item you’ll find on eBay marked up at a ridiculous price (it’s actually already there) so don’t be surprised if you see people buying more than one.

All that is to say please don’t get upset with AMC employees who are just there to give you popcorn and soda as you embark on your journey into the multiverse.
