Woman Can’t Wait a Few Minutes for Her Drinks. When the Server Comes, She Makes Sure To Shame Her in Front of Everyone

Waiting for a drink at a restaurant can be frustrating, especially when it takes longer than expected. But there is a difference between asking about your order and making the server feel bad for the wait. One customer is now being criticized online for doing just that.
Servers often have several tables to simultaneously take care of. A customer may only notice that their drink hasn’t arrived yet, without knowing what else the server is dealing with. A short wait can quickly become an uncomfortable situation when that frustration is taken out on the worker.
That is what happened in a TikTok video posted by @creativemedia91 under the name Must See Tv. The clip has more than 606,800 views and shows a woman making several comments to a server about waiting for her drink. The woman calls it a joke, but many viewers didn’t see it that way.
Was that really a joke?
The video begins with the customer apparently wondering how much longer she will have to wait for her drink. When the server approaches, the woman immediately lets her know that she has been waiting. “Girl you are just in time. I was waiting for you,” the customer tells her.
She then brings up the server’s previous visit to the table, claiming she wasn’t asked whether she wanted another drink. “When you came last time you didn’t ask me if I wanted another drink,” she tells the employee. “I said she must not want me to get tipsy tonight.”
The server appears to play along, responding, “She’s looking out,” before asking the table if anyone needs anything else. The customer then clarifies, “It was a joke.” But she doesn’t leave it there. The woman brings up the missing drink again and tells the server, “You held it hostage over there.” Customers getting impatient over drinks can put workers in an awkward position, especially when one bartender is handling several orders at once.
Back in the clip, the woman continues addressing the employee as she waits for the drink. “Girl if you don’t get your behind over here my drink right now,” she says, before adding that she is going to “snatch it” from the server’s tray.
The employee doesn’t argue and instead continues doing her job while the woman talks to her. Frustration over a drink can quickly get directed at the worker, with one server even facing threats from an angry customer. Still, the woman insists her comments are only jokes.
Viewers largely sided with the server after watching the interaction. Many didn’t find the woman’s comments funny and instead felt she was making the employee uncomfortable while she was simply trying to work. “Hate ppl like this,” one person wrote. “Like wtf is she supposed to say to any of this nonsense?!” another asked.
Some service workers shared their frustration too. “As a server myself I am sooo tired of people like this. I’ll be literally running around and a customer will act like I’m not doing my job properly,” one wrote. Others focused on the customer’s claim that she was only joking. One viewer simply responded, “She wasn’t joking.” Another called it “passive aggressive behavior.”
The interaction also had viewers predicting what would happen when it came time to leave a tip. “her excuse not to tip,” one person wrote. Another was even more direct: “She won’t tip.” “People like this do not tip so,” someone else added.
The woman may have considered the exchange playful, but viewers clearly didn’t agree. A delayed drink might be frustrating, but repeatedly putting the server on the spot over it left many people more annoyed with the customer than with the wait.
