Colorado woman takes off her $2000 rings for tanning at Palm Beach Tan. Then it’s gone, and the staff responds strangely: ‘not dealing with this’

Taking off expensive jewelry for a short time may not seem like a big deal. But forgetting it can quickly become an expensive mistake, especially after leaving the place where it was taken off.
Noticing the mistake quickly should make things easier. But if only 25 minutes have passed and nobody else has supposedly entered the room, it can be confusing when two rings are suddenly nowhere to be found.
TikTok creator Karolina (@notkarolinajaskot) claims she left two designer rings worth nearly $2,000 at Palm Beach Tan. She called as soon as she realized, but the rings were already missing. What employees allegedly told her about the room only left her with more questions.
So where did the rings go?
Karolina explains that she regularly wears the same two rings, a gold Cartier Love ring and a white Christian Dior ring, which she bought for herself. She had them on while running errands before arriving at her usual Palm Beach Tan location in Colorado at around 4 p.m.
When she arrived, nobody was at the front desk, while several employees were together in another room. Someone eventually checked her in, and she went to the same tanning room she normally uses.
Before tanning, she placed both rings on a bench while changing and applying lotion. She saw them after getting dressed but left them under a sign and accidentally walked out without them. About 25 minutes later, she realized her mistake at a nail appointment and immediately called Palm Beach Tan, describing the rings and where she had left them. She planned to return after her appointment.
Instead, an employee allegedly told her the rings were not there. The TikToker asked whether another customer had used the room after her and claims she was told nobody had, although an employee had already cleaned it.
That answer immediately made her suspicious. “I’m not dealing with this sh*t,” she recalled, pointing out that she had paid nearly $2,000 for the two rings. She left her nail appointment before it was finished and drove back to Palm Beach Tan. Her suspicion that an employee took the jewelry has not been independently confirmed.
Leaving an expensive ring somewhere that seems safe can make it difficult to recover once it disappears. The Colorado woman searched the tanning bed, her clothes, bags and car before calling police. The rings were also sentimental: the Dior was her first expensive purchase for herself, while she bought the Cartier just a month earlier as a gift to herself.
Her experience also shows why protecting expensive rings can involve more than being careful while wearing them. According to Karolina, an officer checked underneath the tanning bed and among the towels but found nothing. She acknowledged that police could not search the employees without probable cause.
Viewers encouraged her to keep looking for answers. “These rings are expensive… tell the police you want camera pulled or to be interviewed independently,” one person commented. Another wrote, “There has to be cameras in the hallways and in lobby area. Can you request to view that footage through corporate.”
Others placed more responsibility on her. “I mean, it’s your fault for forgetting them,” one commenter wrote, adding that she had once lost a Tiffany ring the same way and called it “an expensive mistake.”
Palm Beach Tan also responded directly. “Hi Karolina, thank you so much for bringing this to our attention,” the company commented. “Our team takes situations like these very seriously.” It added that the team had sent her a message and hoped to get in contact.
The experience became a lesson about bringing expensive jewelry to tanning appointments. She says she will no longer bring valuable rings with her because she could forget them after taking them off. At the time of her video, what happened to the Cartier and Dior rings remained unclear.
