Matchmaker Tries to Set Up a Biotech Scientist With a Woman. He Had an Impossible Request: ‘The Next Stage in Human Evolution’

The dating market can be brutal, with people having great expectations of what their ideal partners should bring to the table. But while many singles go through the woes of dating apps, Xiao Hei (@nor5676712026) has taken on the mission of connecting potential partners as a matchmaker in China. He’s had several over-the-top standards from his clients, but Xiao couldn’t forget one man’s request involving toes.
“I have been hesitating for a long time to talk about this customer,” Xiao told Instagram. He claimed to be so bothered by the request that he didn’t sleep well for three days thinking about it. The man he was going to work on as a matchmaker was in his early thirties, and Xiao noted that he stood at 5’9″, wore gold-rimmed glasses, and looked well-kept and clean. Moreover, the man spoke slowly, matching his gentle appearance.
The man allegedly works for an unnamed biotech company but didn’t go into the specifics about his career background. Xiao, respecting the boundary, didn’t ask much either. Nevertheless, the man had a prolific educational background, having acquired a master’s degree. The man earned ¥300,000 annually, exceeding the average salary in China. Moreover, he also had his own house and car. With these details in mind, Xiao asked the man what he was looking for in a wife.
Is he into toes and unusual feet?
“I don’t ask for much, just one thing. Her feet must have six toes,” the man allegedly told Xiao. Not everyone’s into feet, like this man who ran from his date after she told him to pay for her $120 pedicure. But did the man have some sort of foot fetish? Xiao himself was speechless after the man told him about his one and only standard.
“I thought I heard him wrong,” Xiao stated. He asked the man to repeat his answer, and the man repeated his preference by saying he wanted a woman with an extra toe on her foot.
“Are you kidding me?” Xiao, in his other videos, has also talked about people with unrealistic dating standards. But this particular request made him do a double-take. The man explained that he was not joking and believes a sixth toe is biologically advantageous for humans.
“Six toes is the direction of human evolution,” the man allegedly argued. He then explained that the reason humans have toes is that they provided enough support for climbing down trees. But he said that modern human bodies require further structural support and that an extra toe is a “reconstruction” of the human foot. The man further claimed that with a sixth toe, the human foot can have better grip and stress distribution.
“The next stage in human evolution is six toes,” the man allegedly repeated. Xiao said that the man’s biotech company was doing research on feet and evolution. The client later disclosed that he works on gene editing at his company. Xiao said the information made him feel a chill down to the soles of his five-toed feet.
“Are you looking for a six-toed woman to get married to or to research?” Xiao asked. The man allegedly said that he was seriously looking for a wife but wanted a woman with extra toes so that his future children would have a higher probability of inheriting the feature.
“To be honest, I was a little confused. But he didn’t stop,” Xiao said. Then, unexpectedly, the man showed his photo gallery while on his academic ramble. It was allegedly filled with photos of feet, with 3D diagrams and X-rays. Essentially, the man was into feet- just not in the way many would expect. It is unclear whether the man was successful in his search for a six-toed wife.
