Subway Worker Goes to Target for Lash Glue and Cookies, but Gets Devastated by a Customer Screaming at an Employee Over Declined Card: ‘Not His Job!’
Sadly, such incidents are very common!

Mid-makeup emergencies can throw an entire afternoon off schedule. When Subway worker and TikTok creator @addiissvlogs realized she was out of lash glue right before stepping out, she went on a quick emergency run to Target for rescue. However, the errand to restock her vanity turned into a front-row seat to unwarranted customer hostility.
In a TikTok vlog sitting at over 12,000 views, the creator recounted a deeply frustrating self-checkout scene she allegedly witnessed while picking up beauty supplies and sweet treats for her family.
The trip began when the creator ran out of lash glue right in the middle of getting ready. This prompted her to go on a sudden run to her local Target. While navigating the quiet store aisles, she snagged replacement glue, an extra set of falsies, and a pack of S’mores frosted cookies for her dad.
“This is your job!”
However, her peaceful shopping trip came to an abrupt halt when she stepped up to the self-checkout area. Another customer’s payment card reportedly failed to process at the register, prompting the woman to flag down a floor attendant.
According to the vlog, a male Target worker immediately stepped in to help her troubleshoot the issue. He even calmly offered the customer options, like printing a receipt or walking up to the main guest service counter to resolve the glitch.
Instead of accepting the worker’s polite assistance, the customer allegedly snapped. According to the creator, she began yelling at the attendant. The customer also allegedly began aggressively deflecting her payment failure onto him with zero justification.
When the worker calmly asked how she would like to handle the transaction, the shopper’s hostility escalated. “Well, I don’t know, what do you expect me to do? This is your job!” the customer reportedly shouted, making a massive scene over her own bank card denial.
Sitting in her car after witnessing the meltdown, the creator couldn’t contain her rage over the customer’s entitlement. “Ooh, girl! Ooh, girl! Not his job!” she exclaimed, calling out the shopper for taking out personal frustration on a retail worker who was simply trying to help.
Front-line retail and food service employees routinely bear the brunt of customer frustration when automated systems or personal banking cards fail. Whether it’s a Subway worker behind a sandwich counter or a Target floor clerk at self-checkout, service workers have zero control over bank card limits, fraud holds, or third-party card processing networks.
Reflecting on the confrontation, the creator admitted that seeing the worker being scolded for something entirely out of his control filled her with immediate anger, and she grabbed her items and left the store as fast as possible.
A declined card is a private banking matter between a customer and their financial institution, nobody should take it out on the employees.
