Woman Rents a Cabin in Hocking Hills Ohio and Finds a Room That Wasn’t on the Listing. What Happened That Night Made All Four Women Flee
A cabin getaway is usually booked with one goal in mind—to relax for a few days away from home. But every so often, people return with a story that changes how they remember the trip, leaving even those closest to them struggling to explain what happened.
That is why one account shared on TikTok has caught viewers’ attention. What began as a quiet bachelorette weekend in Hocking Hills, Ohio, ended with four women leaving their rental in the middle of the night after a series of events they say they could not explain.
TikTok creator @kelseaec recently shared the story, which was sent in by a woman she calls Jane. Jane says she, her then-fiancée and their two maids of honour rented a cabin in Logan, Ohio, expecting a quiet girls’ weekend. Instead, she says they found an extra bedroom that was never shown in the listing, and the night only became stranger from there.
At first, nothing seemed out of the ordinary
Jane says the cabin matched the online listing, with two bedrooms, a kitchenette and a shared living area. But while heading downstairs to the hot tub, the group found an unlisted bedroom with a bed, television and seating area, where she and her fiancée decided to sleep.
Later that evening, the four women got into the hot tub before Jane’s sister said she felt unwell. Jane helped her upstairs, left her glasses on the bedside table and returned outside.
She then noticed their fully charged Bluetooth speaker was dead. She and another friend later went inside, leaving her fiancée alone in the hot tub.
When they checked on her, Jane says her fiancée was staring into space and said she was outside with her “friends.” She claimed there were seven of them, but only two were visible because “they don’t have any faces.”
Believing it was a medical emergency, Jane and her friend brought her inside. She says her fiancée kept trying to return to the hot tub, and when she reached for her phone to call for help, the battery was dead. Jane says her sister’s glasses disappeared from the bedside table before turning up underneath the bed.
Moments later, Jane says her sister collapsed and struggled to breathe. Looking back on everything that had happened, she says the group felt they needed to leave immediately. The group packed their belongings and left. Jane says the Bluetooth speaker, which had been dead moments earlier, suddenly announced it was ready to connect.
Jane called her parents because nobody felt safe to drive. She says her fiancée returned to normal soon after leaving and remembered nothing about the faceless friends.
The following morning, Jane returned with her father to collect belongings she had left behind, including her mobile phone. Although she believed it was dead, her father tried calling it anyway.
Jane says the phone rang from the downstairs bedroom that had not appeared in the listing. She also says the battery, which had been empty the previous night, was fully charged. After collecting everything they could find, Jane says they walked out of the cabin when the front door suddenly slammed shut behind them and locked.
Jane says she has never returned to Hocking Hills and does not plan to rent another cabin. She adds that her wife has never experienced another episode like the one she described.
Similar stories shared on TikTok include one guest finding a hidden trap door inside an Airbnb and another claiming she found bloodstains throughout a rental home.
The story has drawn mixed reactions on TikTok. While some viewers suggested carbon monoxide exposure or too much time in the hot tub, others pointed to Hocking Hills’ reputation for paranormal stories or asked which cabin the group had rented.
