Couple buys Samsung refrigerator from Best Buy. Then the workers refuse to install it in their house: ‘So we panic-bought this Whirlpool’

A couple ordered a refrigerator from Best Buy after their old one broke. Then the delivery team allegedly refused to deliver the first one, which led to the couple having to order a second fridge that was installed incorrectly.
Content creators Jen and Joe (@jenandjoeonthego), who run a joint account on TikTok, posted a video with more than 7,000 views. In it, Jen explained how a delivery issue led to the couple not receiving a Samsung fridge.
The couple reportedly ordered a Whirlpool as a replacement, but it was too small for their space in comparison to the other fridge, which Jen said would fit in their kitchen. Now the content creator is asking Best Buy to “do better.”
What was the issue the couple had with Best Buy?
In an initial post on the couple’s joint account, Jen explained the couple’s “fridge drama.” Jen and Joe had originally had a French door fridge, but it died. They then decided they’d trust Best Buy to order a new Samsung fridge for their home.
When a third-party delivery team arrived to deliver the Samsung, they reportedly took one look at the space in the kitchen and refused to bring the appliance inside the home. After three phone calls, Jen and Joe returned the Samsung. The couple then had to pick out a second fridge, which was delivered the very same week.
That’s how Jen and Joe panic-ordered a Whirlpool fridge, which reportedly came with a list of issues.
When the second fridge was delivered, Jen said, “They didn’t put on booties. They didn’t properly install, parts were missing and they were lazy. They didn’t even level the fridge.”
Commenters noticed that they didn’t level the fridge, as one door jutted up more than the other. In addition, Jen didn’t like how the fridge itself looked. She noted that it was too small for her kitchen and that the ice maker and water dispenser sprayed “all over the place.”
Viewers try to follow the fridge saga
Subsequently, Jen posted two follow-ups discussing the Whirlpool and her desire to return the fridge to Best Buy. In the second, she said she ordered a third fridge to replace the Whirlpool, but it hadn’t arrived yet.
In the third video, she told her audience that she finally purchased a GE fridge from a local shop that “fits the space perfectly.” She did note that the fridge stuck out a little bit, but it fit the couple’s needs more than the Whirlpool.
She called out Best Buy in the video, saying, “ Don’t buy an appliance from Best Buy. They are the absolute worst.”
@jenandjoeonthego Fridge Drama is over! We bought from a small shop in town and couldn’t be happier. They did a fantastic job! Don’t use Best Buy. They have a third party delivery service that is AWFUL! #fridge #kitchen #appliance #bestbuy ♬ original sound – JenandJoeOntheGo
Is this really Best Buy’s fault?
In the comments section, multiple viewers pointed out that Jen stated the first fridge was delivered by a third party. For that reason, they told the content creators not to blame Best Buy for the delivery issues. A few commenters even said they had overwhelmingly positive experiences with the company.
When a commenter said each of the fridges Jen purchased came from “the same place,” Jen replied, “But it’s the care the delivery team takes to make it a good or bad experience.”
She pointed out that by hiring the third-party delivery team, she subsequently had a negative experience, and that thereby put the responsibility on Best Buy.
Other TikTokers shared similar experiences with other companies such as Home Depot and said that companies relying on third-party installers was a larger issue.
“Add Home Depot to that list of nightmare 3rd party installation. I learned my lesson. I found a home grown Appliance store with their own delivery service, only way to do it for the next appliance shutdown,” one commenter said.
Another commenter said, “They are all 3rd party deliveries now. Got a new GE fridge recently. It didn’t work. Had to wait 10 days for a new one. Ridiculous.”
