Andrew Tate and His Equally Problematic Brother Were Arrested in Miami

Manosphere influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, were arrested last Saturday in Miami, Florida. They are facing multiple criminal charges in the UK.

“In 2024, the CPS authorized 21 charges against Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate following our investigation into allegations of sexual offenses dating back to 2012,” Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas from the Bedfordshire Police said on social media. Police had been working with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) regarding the brothers. In addition to the charges, the Bedfordshire Police have authorized 38 more charges against the brothers. The Tate brothers are now facing a total of 59 criminal charges.

“The charges relate to seven victims spanning a period from 2010 to 2017. Our officers have worked together with CPS and both national and international law enforcement agencies as part of this complex investigation,” the chief added.

Atty. Joseph McBride posted on X, formerly Twitter, in support of his clients. He defended that the brothers are “innocent” and facing trumped-up charges.

“This is not law enforcement. This is a political hit ordered by a dying empire that fears two free men with a microphone more than it fears actual criminals walking its streets,” McBride said in his statement.

The new charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate

The CPS is pursuing several charges against Andrew Tate, including seven charges of sexual assault, three counts of arranging or facilitating sexual trafficking, three counts of assault resulting in bodily harm, and 19 additional charges involving offenses related to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Tristan Tate, on the other hand, is facing one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating sexual trafficking.

The brothers, who are both UK and US citizens, are set to appear before a federal court to have them extradited to the UK.

A history of notoriety

This would not be the brothers’ first rodeo against similarly grave criminal charges. In 2022, Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by Romanian authorities under investigation for human trafficking charges. The brothers were detained for 24 hours under the suspicion of forming an organized crime group. The brothers have also denied these charges from Romanian authorities. Andrew stated online, “The Matrix has sent its agents.”

Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) alleged that the Tate brothers employed a “loverboy” scheme. Supposedly, the Tate brothers would make false promises of a romantic relationship to lure victims. The manipulative tactic maintained the brothers’ control over their victims. Then, the brothers would sexually exploit the victims by allegedly forcing them to create pornographic content.

DIICOT proceeded to search the Tate’s properties in Bucharest and Ilfov County, followed by a seizure of their assets. Fifteen luxury cars, fourteen designer watches, and cash in different currencies were taken by authorities. For the allegations, the brothers faced a series of house arrests and detention in Romania. Although investigations are still ongoing, Romanian authorities lifted the travel restrictions on the Tate brothers in February 2025. A report from the Financial Times suggested that the United States government pressured authorities in Romania to lift the brothers’ travel ban. Romanian authorities have denied the speculation.

With new charges on the horizon, it seems that the brothers will have to spend their days in court once more.
