Rolin Jones Hinted That ‘The Vampire Lestat’ Is a 2 Parter. What Does That Mean?

Vampire shows often titilate, and there’s no doubt The Vampire Lestat has fans baying for more.
The third season of AMC’s Interview With the Vampire series, officially titled Anne Rice’s The Vampire Lestat to differentiate it from the first two seasons, has returned to screens with much fan acclaim, and a tasty new storyline to boot. Following the format of Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles, which the series is based on, this newest installation is a series that takes us back through the life of the eponymous Lestat, and how he ended up becoming a rockstar millionaire…and one of the undead.
There have been lots of twists and turns in the series already, leading to plenty of online speculation about how various storylines will pan out. The adaptation is taking some liberties with Rice’s novel of the same name. So it has fans on the edge of their seats week after week. And there are only a few episodes left. Luckily, series creator and showrunner Rolin Jones recently confirmed there will be more Lestat in the future if the show is to get greenlit for more seasons.
During an on-stage interview at ATX TV Festival prior to The Vampire Lestat‘s release, Jones said the show was a “two parter.” But what does that mean?
Is there going to be more of Lestat?
As of this writing, the show is not yet confirmed for season 4 and beyond. There is a hope among fans (and the cast) that the series will continue but nothing has been set in stone. But Jones spoke with interviewer Damian Holbrook about the series and said “We’re in a sort of two-parter…and he [Lestat] just gets to a sort of precipice that’s almost like just the beginning by episode seven.”
He was referencing “The Failures,” the album tracks that Lestat sold at auction that details his time as a rockstar. Does this mean that we will get more of his “failures”? Or if the show gets another season, will it be a better time for Lestat? There are a lot of questions fans need answered.
The Vampire Lestat has been given praise for its humor, pacing, and faithfulness to Rice’s original novels as well as Reid’s performance as the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. Let’s just hope that the momentum carries us to potential new seasons.
