Everyone loves a good deal at a restaurant. In this economy, every dollar saved counts, turning this growing luxury into a more affordable option to feed a family, like the Bottomless Apps at Buffalo Wild Wings. What makes the deals even tastier is taking home leftovers to enjoy a second meal. To be denied this would be frustrating.

After TikTok creator Candie Dunn (@cdunn711) was denied this privilege at Buffalo Wild Wings, she put the establishment on blast.

For eight seconds, she sits inside a Buffalo Wild Wings, unveiling her remaining onion rings and chicken wings on her table.

“Buffalo Wild Wings would rather throw your food away versus letting you take it home because it’s a ‘bottomless appetizer,’” the content creator blasts in the text overlay, accompanied by the female shrugging emoji.

What Are the Bottomless Appetizers at Buffalo Wild Wings?

The restaurant first introduced its bottomless appetizers (also known as ‘bottomless apps’) in 2025 to appeal to customers on a budget and encourage more visits, per Yahoo. A group of four can order two dishes at a time, including mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fried pickles, Hatch queso, chips, and salsa under the ‘Classic Bottomless’ for $9.99.

Those who want more variety can check out the ‘Premium Bottomless,’ offering cheese curds, chips, and guacamole to the list for $12.99. Groups of more than four have to pay an extra $2.99 fee.

Unfortunately, the promotion already ran its course, which started on April 7 to June 10.

What Did Viewers Think?

Although Dunn posted her video on Apr. 30, it attracted more than 384,000 viewers, many of whom would’ve concocted a way to snag the leftovers.

“I would [have] walked out with [the] trays lol,” one viewer commented.

“That’s when I pull my Tupperware out of my purse,” another stated.

“I’d be sitting there until I could finish the food, I hate food waste,” a third remarked.

However, others sought an explanation for this.

“That’s to keep people from ordering a lot of food they aren’t gonna eat there,” one commenter suggested.

“I think at my location they will give you a to go box for what is already on your table, but they won’t bring you any additional appetizers to take home,” a second proposed.

Why Couldn’t She Take Her Leftovers Home?

Since Dunn’s video drew in so much attention, she provided more context about the situation in a follow-up video.

“The thing is, it was nowhere on the menu,” she said. “My daughter actually asked the waitress ’cause she had seen it advertised somewhere on TikTok.”

Typically, the specials are advertised on promotional menus in fine print. But her server allegedly claimed otherwise.

“‘Yeah, we offer it. It’s not on our menu but we can do that,'” she reportedly told them. According to the content creator, she and her family didn’t eat and ordered back-to-back appetizer refills.

“My daughter ordered nachos, and the other was onion rings. We ordered one more of the onion rings and there were three of us eating,” Dunn recalled. “We also had wings. We’re gonna take those home and then the rest of the onion rings and chips.”

When the server gave them their box for the wings, she refused to hand one out for the appetizers. From there, the server allegedly monitored the family.

“She was watching everything and she did not go far from our table,” the content creator recounted. “She was rude about it.”

While Dunn attributes the server’s behavior to a fear of taking advantage of the special, she still couldn’t wrap her mind around it.

“Me taking home the rest of what we didn’t finish just to eat later and you’re literally just gonna take it to the back and throw it away? That’s wasteful to me,” Dunn said.
