SF woman tries to decode friend’s engagement proposal location, calls hotel after playing detective, then finds out she was right

In my opinion, women who are often accused of being too nosy are actually excellent investigators. In a world without patriarchy, they would excel in detective work. If my own experiences weren’t enough to prove this, TikTok user @goinggonemadd’s story about pinpointing the exact location of her best friend’s proposal with minimal clues further supports my belief.

Just two days ago, TikTok user @goinggonemadd posted a video sharing how she discovered where her best friend was being proposed to after she reached out for help. Using limited information, she was able to identify the place where her friend’s boyfriend was taking her and even the hotel they were staying in. The result? Her best friend could prepare for the moment without feeling overwhelmed, and even looked ravishing during the proposal because she knew about it in advance. And before anyone claims it’s invasive, the boyfriend, who is now a fiancé, knows and is okay with it.

TikTok user @goinggonemadd put her detective skills to use for her best friend

In the video she uploaded to her TikTok account just two days ago, @goinggonemadd (MadisonWaller) mentions that she was given the responsibility of decoding the place where her best friend was being taken by her boyfriend, where she believed she was being proposed to. Madison quickly took on the task and had three clues before her.

First, Madison’s best friend’s boyfriend had asked her to take a train from New York to meet him in Philadelphia that weekend. This led Madison to rule out the possibility of her best friend’s boyfriend booking a place in New York or the Hamptons. The second clue was that Madison’s BFF’s boyfriend told her she wouldn’t need a passport, meaning they weren’t traveling internationally. The third clue was that the boyfriend mentioned the temperature at their destination would be in the sixties. Keeping all of this in mind, along with her best friend’s favorite place being Charleston, Madison searched for a spot with similar vibes to Charleston in the north, within 100-150 miles of Philadelphia. To filter options based on the temperatures her BFF’s boyfriend mentioned, Madison input her narrowed-down information and asked CHAT GPT which places within that radius would have temperatures in the sixties that weekend. It suggested three locations: Cape May in New Jersey, Lewis in Delaware, and Saint Michaels in Maryland. Based on appearance, Madison used her judgment and chose Cape May, New Jersey, as it matched her friend’s vibe more than the other two. She then checked TripAdvisor for the most booked and popular hotel there and found The Congress Hall Hotel. To confirm her guess, Madison called the hotel pretending to be her best friend. She explained it was a birthday weekend for her boyfriend (her best friend’s boyfriend, in reality), that the hotel was booked, and asked if the staff could do anything special or upgrade the room to a suite without him knowing. The staff confirmed there was a reservation in her best friend’s boyfriend’s name for the best suite that weekend. Then, with everything settled, Madison’s best friend was free to plan her outfit and get engaged without second-guessing her wardrobe choices, maybe even ten years from now. Way to go, Madison!!
