Retired Major General slams Pete Hegseth as a potential ‘war criminal,’ claiming his only real credential is being close to Trump

Currently, a video is circulating on social media, including X (formerly Twitter), showing Retired Major General Randy Manner criticizing United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. In the video, after being shown a collection of clips featuring Hegseth making bold claims and engaging in chest-thumping activities, Manner remarks that he is unfit for the role he is in.
Manner also states that, based on what he saw, Hegseth was embodying the behavior of a “potential war criminal,” and most of the people who commented on that video agreed with him. They wanted him removed to prevent any further danger from entering the United States.
Retired Major General Randy Manner calls Pete Hegseth a “potential war criminal”
Retired Major General Randy Manner had harsh words for Pete Hegseth after watching a collection of clips of him in a recent interview. In the video Manner was watching, Hegseth at one point claimed that the US military’s goal was to “intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill” America’s enemies. Manner, with a disappointed look, said, “Those are the words of a potential war criminal. Right there.”
Furthermore, Manner questioned the language Hegseth used, saying it was not appropriate for addressing the military. He stated, “That is not the advice, and counsel and direction that any Secretary of Defence should be providing our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines. It puts them actually in greater danger.” Specifically addressing Hegseth’s qualifications for his current role, Manner said, “The Secretary of Defence is a disgraced major who was kicked out of the DC National Guard. He has no qualifications, whatsoever, to be the Secretary of Defence, other than his extreme loyalty to the president.”
Trump says Pete Hegseth wasn’t happy about US and Iran peace negotiations
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Donald Trump revealed that peace negotiations between Iran and the United States were moving forward quickly and that he expected a ceasefire deal to be reached soon. Trump expressed satisfaction with how things were progressing between the two countries, but also pointed out an alarming detail during his appearance.
Saying that he wasn’t really supposed to say this but was doing it anyway, Trump shared that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and General Dan Caine were not too excited about the news of the US and Iran reaching a peace agreement. Focusing on their disapproval of the matter, Trump said they were more interested in winning than in achieving peace through negotiations.
