‘Occasionally bad guys speak the truth’: Adam Kinzinger reacts to Joe Kent’s resignation, hinting at ‘massive infighting’ tearing MAGA apart

Longtime Donald Trump critic Adam Kinzinger is weighing in on Joe Kent’s resignation as the Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Centre amidst ongoing hostility with Iran. On his X account on March 17, 2026, Kinzinger said that Joe Kent was a “very bad man,” dismissing the conversations about him that praised him for opposing the Trump administration and its unnecessary war in Iran.

Additionally, Kinzinger called Joe Kent a “white nationalist” and said that he doesn’t even try to hide his identity as such. He further emphasised that when Kent was hired, people were shocked by the event because they couldn’t believe how “bad” he was. Slightly deviating from criticising Kent, Kinzinger pointed out that his departure from the Trump administration indicated cracks forming within the party, where members were fighting with one another.

Adam Kinzinger hints at MAGA infighting

In the wake of Joe Kent’s resignation as Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Centre, former U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger is stating that MAGA is falling apart. As previously mentioned, in his recent X post, Kinzinger discussed Joe Kent and explained that his departure from the Trump administration signified considerable“infighting” that was causing people to leave.

However, Kinzinger also clarified that the increased internal fighting within MAGA does not mean the movement or its members are about to collapse. In fact, he said MAGA will continue to exist as long as Donald Trump is “kicking.” His words in this context were, “There is some massive infighting right now in MAGA. That there is, you have your kind of America’s firsters that believe we should never go to war. You have the sort of obviously hawkish side, although I don’t think I’m like old Republican hawks, I guess in theory are, but they’re like just… they’ve, they just…they lost their mind basically….But this is a sign, I think that there are some fractures that are coming, but don’t expect MAGA to fall apart… It exists around Donald Trump, and as long as Donald Trump is kicking, they’re all in.”

Adam Kinzinger says Donald Trump did not anticipate so much pushback

In his latest video on X, Adam Kinzinger hints at more resignations from Republican members of the Trump administration over disagreements with Trump and others in the administration. However, as he previously mentioned, he clarifies that these resignations will not eliminate the MAGA movement but will certainly weaken it somewhat.

Kinzinger also pointed out that the rift among MAGAs is diminishing their chances of winning votes from independents and Democrats (who wouldn’t have voted for them anyway). “This is crushing them among independents. Certainly, they’ll never win a Democrat’s vote. And so, Donald Trump bit off a lot more politically than he can chew, and I think he is in complete denial, that’s why you see these shifting explanations, the anger at the media, and everything else, because he doesn’t know how else to deal with it,” said Kinzinger.
