‘This is lowkey creepy’: Man takes his girl to Mexico resort for spring break. Then a fellow guest follows her on Instagram—without knowing her name
A man took his girlfriend to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico for spring break. Then he noticed one particular guy who had a disrespectful and somewhat creepy interest in his partner that put a damper on their experience.
“ If you’re going on spring break with your girlfriend and you know, she’s like very physically attractive, then you low-key gotta watch your back with other dudes,” said TikToker Billy (@billytalksreels). His video got 84,000 views.
He then explained that despite them having a good time on their trip, they ran into an issue. A man with whom his girlfriend never interacted ended up finding her Instagram. He then tried to follow her after he already knew that she was not single, something that Billy found disrespectful.
Now, as Billy reflects back on the situation, he’s realized that the entire situation had more than a few red flags.
Billy and his partner take a trip to Mexico
Billy and his girlfriend decided to take a vacation to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, something that was supposed to be completely stress-free. And while it was for the most part, there was a mildly annoying thing that persisted during the trip—men kept showing an interest in Billy’s partner.
Billy described his relationship as incredibly secure in his video, adding that he trusts his girlfriend and doesn’t necessarily feel threatened by other men. But it was, in the very least, mildly bothersome considering they were focusing on each other.
The couple participates in a poolside competition
Billy and his partner ended up learning about a fun poolside competition happening at the resort. So, they decided to participate in the next one available.
While there, they met a guy who was a bit older than they were. During the game, the group did introductions, so Billy and his partner both introduced themselves by their first names. But Billy’s girlfriend didn’t really have a chance to talk to the older gentleman in the pool. The game was pretty harsh, and she struck out earlier than Billy did.
That ended up leaving Billy, who chatted with the four guys and one girl who were left in the pool. At that point, Billy wasn’t necessarily chatting to be friendly. He was trying to compete and messing with other contestants just a little bit. But, he ended up having a relatively friendly rapport with the older man. They ended up chatting for a bit, and Billy felt like he had a good conversation with him.
When Billy struck out, he took the opportunity to go see his girlfriend and watch the rest of the competition unfold. The older “marine” looking man ended up winning. Billy thought that everything was all smiles. But then the marine passed by them. By that point, Billy had his arm around his girlfriend outside the pool. The man made no attempt to speak to Billy or say goodbye to them.
The next day, his girlfriend gets an interesting follow request
By the next day, Billy’s girlfriend had gotten an interesting follow request. Despite the fact that she had never had a direct conversation with the older, marine-looking guy, he ended up looking for her online and finding her public Instagram profile. From there, he followed her.
Billy found it incredibly disrespectful, especially considering the fact that he had very obviously shown he was in a relationship with his girlfriend the day prior. Essentially, the man cozied up with Billy, either to get more information about his girlfriend or just because, and then tried to undermine his relationship the very next day. That was something that Billy wasn’t very happy with.
Commenters who left their thoughts on Billy’s video agreed, saying it was unwarranted. “[I don’t know] how he thought that’d be remotely okay or as if she wouldn’t have shown you. Ugh I’d be sooo uncomfortable,” one viewer said.
Billy emphasized that while the situation only bothered them for about “10 minutes,” it still creeped out his girlfriend. He emphasized toward the latter half of his video that being a cordial human being can still end up with unwanted attention, so its always best to look out. While he didn’t think the creepy man would be able to “steal” his girlfriend from him, he did feel like the entire situation was strange and misguided.
