Donald Trump takes credit for America ‘winning too much’ at the Olympics, despite his only sport being golf carts

Anyone who has been keeping a close eye on Donald Trump would know that he likes to toot his own horn, often for things he has no significant contributions to. This time, it’s no different. In a recent event where he was honouring some of the players from the USA’s Men’s Hockey Team following their historical win at this year’s Olympics, Trump went on a long rant about the country’s performance at the games and somehow landed on the fact that he was responsible for the impressive performance of Team USA this year. I mean, how? I doubt he can even hold a hockey stick properly.
Donald Trump did not just take credit for Team USA’s performance at the Olympics during his recent appearance; he also remarked that the teams representing the country were tired of winning “too much,” and allegedly, they even told him so. Huh? I don’t think anyone would ever say something like that, let alone players representing the country at the world stage, where the primary motive is to win. No one plays to be average; everyone does to win.
Trump believes he is the reason Team USA is winning “too much” at the Olympics
The speech Trump gave on Tuesday, before inviting the USA men’s hockey team to the White House, is possibly one of the most bizarre ones I have heard in recent times, and I have heard a couple from him. Talking about America’s performance at this year’s Olympics, Trump said that athletes representing the country were winning again, adding that they were winning so much that they do not know what to do about it.
Trump then proceeded to praise himself, saying, “People are asking me, please, please, please Mr President, we’re winning too much! We can’t take it anymore! We’re not used to winning in our country! Until you came along, we were just always losing, but now we’re winning too much.” Adding to the list of things that never happened, Trump also mentioned that he told the players who were too afraid of winning “too much” that they were going to win “big” and “bigger than ever.”
Trump invited the USA women’s hockey team, which also won at the Olympics, because he didn’t want to look like a misogynist
In a video circulating on social media, the Director of the FBI, Kash Patel, after celebrating with the USA men’s hockey team following their win at this year’s Olympics, can be seen holding a phone to the players with Trump on it. He is basically inviting the team to the White House, where they would present them with medals. But what is striking in that conversation is the way he speaks about the women’s hockey team, who also won gold at the Olympics, by the way.
Speaking to the men’s hockey team, in a particularly embarrassing moment, Trump states that he would have to invite the women’s hockey team, as well. Not “will,” but “have to,” and the reason for it is that if he didn’t, he would get impeached. Can you believe the audacity?? After this incident the women’s hockey team declined his invitation.
