‘I never saw any red flag’: NYC girl discovers her ‘perfect’ long-distance boyfriend has been seeing a married woman, who left her husband for him
We have all seen the cinematic tropes of the “secret life” on Netflix. But for one TikTok creator, the fiction became a devastating reality. Eva, who goes by @doratheexplorhoe, shared a deeply emotional storytime about her cheating boyfriend that has captured over 9.4 million viewers.
In the video, she details the exact moment her one-year relationship disintegrated through a single morning email. The creator explained that she believed she was in a “perfect” relationship with a man she intended to marry.
Despite having his location, his passcodes, and seeing no red flags, she discovered that for seven months of their year-long romance, he had another girlfriend living in his city.
The ‘situationship’ email from the other woman
The revelation to Eva came in the form of an email from the other woman a week after she celebrated one-year anniversary with her boyfriend. In the email, the woman claimed she had been in a “situationship” with her boyfriend since June. The woman had allegedly discovered Eva’s TikTok a month prior and grew suspicious when the boyfriend claimed she was “just a friend.”

While Eva was living in Denver, the other woman was helping the boyfriend move into and decorate his new apartment. She would also sleep over whenever Eva wasn’t visiting, essentially stepping into the boyfriend’s life the moment she left town.
The boyfriend’s friends and roommates knew about both women, and told none
The betrayal extended far beyond the boyfriend. Eva expressed profound heartbreak over the fact that the boyfriend’s roommates and friends had met both women multiple times. Despite many of them following the creator on Instagram and knowing about the relationship, no one ever spoke up.
“I don’t even know how that happened… how are there so many people involved and almost let this happen to me?” she asked, highlighting the complicit silence of his social circle.
The boyfriend offered no explanation
When Eva finally confronted her boyfriend, he offered no grand excuse or reason for the double life. According to the video, he simply stated he didn’t know why he did it, leaving her with a “piece of shit” explanation as her only form of closure.
