Pam Bondi stresses there is ‘no evidence’ of Trump committing a crime, but Ted Lieu has the paperwork to prove her wrong

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing where Attorney General Pam Bondi was questioned on a variety of topics, including the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. In this specific context, Bondi was primarily asked to take responsibility for the Department of Justice’s failures, among other things.

No one was expecting Pam Bondi to provide answers during Wednesday’s hearing, and she certainly did not disappoint. Almost every time she was questioned, regardless of who was on the other side, Bondi pretended to be busy, going through paperwork, chatting with colleagues, and not listening, only to ask them to repeat their questions, which she then did not answer. That being said, silence was not Bondi’s only choice of defence on Wednesday, she also frequently resorted to her familiar tactic of deflection, shifting blame from Trump and his party to Democrats and others.

Pam Bondi alleges Donald Trump did not commit a crime

Following the release of a significant portion of the documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, it has been established through various individuals and media outlets that Donald Trump’s name or references have appeared in them thousands of times. An article by The New York Times which was published on Februray 1, 2026, by using a proprietary search tool “identified more than 5,300 files containing more than 38,000 references to Mr. Trump, his wife, his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, and other related words and phrases in the latest batch of emails, government files, videos and other records released by the Justice Department.”

While some contexts in which Trump’s name appears in these documents may not suggest any wrongdoing, others certainly do, including serious allegations such as raping girls, being aware of Epstein’s wrongdoings, and remaining silent until it personally affected him. Nevertheless, Pam Bondi asserted during Wednesday’s hearing that there is “no evidence” of Donald Trump committing any crime and that his presidency is the “most transparent” in U.S. history. This is after Democrat Representative Ted Lieu presented a clip of Trump and Epstein socialising at a party and questioned Bondi about her knowledge of the existence of any underage girls at that event or others they attended together.

Ted Lieu shuts Pam Bondi up with his evidence-backed claims about her and Trump

Soon after Pam Bondi alleged that Donald Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing, Ted Lieu prepared to present evidence to counter her statement. He introduced a witness statement that the FBI National Threat Centre had received from an individual. As he made this announcement, he accused Bondi of lying under oath, which led her to warn him against accusing her of committing a crime. Almost immediately, Lieu produced the witness statement, which showed that the individual had driven Trump in a limousine and overheard him talking to Jeffrey on the phone. The witness also mentioned having met a girl who claimed she was raped by both Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump, who later had her head blown off, with officers at the scene suggesting it was not a suicide.

Ted Lieu then accused the DOJ of failing to do their job properly and not interviewing this individual, who could be a crucial witness in prosecuting those involved in the Epstein case. He finished his remarks with a strong statement, saying, “Epstein should rot in hell. So should the men who support this operation. And as we sit here today, there are over 1,000 victims of sex trafficking. And you have not held a single man accountable. Shame on you. If you had any decency, you would resign right after this.”
