‘A Massive Middle Finger’: Matt Walsh Is SO Angry That Bad Bunny Ruled the Super Bowl

Bad Matt Walsh is back again with his bad takes, just like clockwork. In a game that was noteworthy for just how little happened, Bad Bunny’s performance was the energy we all needed to make it through the next two quarters. But Walsh, who is somebody who certainly does something, was quick to take to X to complain about the halftime show.

“I didn’t watch the NFL’s halftime show but I’ve seen the clips here,” he said. “Just an absolute disgrace and a massive middle finger to the fans to have the entire show in Spanish. Football is an American sport. This is our culture. Our pastime. I was expecting a disgusting spectacle, but it looks even worse than I thought.”

In fact, Walsh and others are so angry that their lip-synced Kid Rock halftime show didn’t prove the upset that they said it would be that they’ve now pivoted their story. It was not, in fact, the plan all along to take 135+ million viewers away from Bad Bunny. No, it was to simply prove that some viewers could be taken away!

“The REAL win is they proved the concept, and now next year will be able to bring in MASSIVE advertisers when they can show 30-40 million viewers & go bigger,” said TheQuartering. Uh-huh. Sure.

Likewise, people are responding to Walsh’s post, claiming it was an “un-American” performance, like this user who said, “You don’t have to hate Spanish to say this felt off. The Super Bowl is a uniquely American event it’s reasonable to expect it to reflect the core audience.”

So…who’s going to be the one to tell them that Puerto Rico is a US territory and that the performance was, therefore, more American than most recent Halftime performers? Or that most other countries are, at the very least, bilingual?

Oooh, you want to be oppressed so bad

People like Walsh will never be happy with anything. They always have to be oppressed in one way or another, and if they can’t find any organically they’ll simply make something up. They want everybody in America to be “American,” but when minorities do so, it is still not enough. And we all know why.

Bad Bunny’s wish for his performance was for people to have fun, whether they spoke Spanish or not. And isn’t that what music is about? Art is meant to broaden your mind and challenge you, not make you wonder why a creep like Kid Rock still even has a fanbase.

Perhaps, as someone pointed out, maybe Walsh just doesn’t like halftime shows.

Matt, you don’t have to watch the Super Bowl, or the Halftime Show. It’s okay, we’ll understand.
