‘Grainy 20-year-old photos’: Bill Clinton scrambles for damage control as the Epstein Files spark yet another scandal

The representatives of former U.S. President Bill Clinton are doing everything possible to ensure that his name is not being unfairly implicated in the Jeffrey Epstein case. Following the recent release of a portion of the Epstein Files by the Justice Department, which included photographs of notable individuals, many are accusing the department of trying to damage the reputations of certain individuals through a strategic release of selective information while attempting to protect the identities of other influential figures.

Among those accusing the U.S. Department of Justice of corruption in the Epstein case is Angel Ureña, Bill Clinton’s spokesperson. In a carefully crafted post on X (formerly Twitter) shared on December 20, 2025, Ureña claimed that the White House is attempting to use Bill Clinton as a “scapegoat” in the Epstein investigation to shield themselves from what “comes next” or what “they’ll try and hide forever.” He stated:

“The White House hasn’t been hiding these files for months only to dump them late on a Friday to protect Bill Clinton. This is about shielding themselves from what comes next, or from what they’ll try and hide forever. So they can release as many grainy 20-plus-year-old photos as they want, but this isn’t about Bill Clinton. Never has, never will be. Even Susie Wiles said Donald Trump was wrong about Bill Clinton.”

Angel Ureña continued to express his views on the relationship between Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein, noting that the two had severed ties long before Epstein became notorious as a disgraced financier and sex offender, unlike another group of individuals who continued their connections with him even after he was recognised for his crimes. He said:

“There are two types of people here. The first group knew nothing and cut Epstein off before his crimes came to light. The second group continued relationships with him after. We’re in the first.”

Ureña, in his statement, then made the bold assertion that individuals in the second group were trying to delay the process of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation to prevent the truth from being revealed. He said:

“No amount of stalling by people in the second group will change that. Everyone, especially MAGA, expects answers, not scapegoats.”

In an additional statement he posted on his X page on December 22, 2025, Angel Ureña asserted that Bill Clinton had nothing to hide in the Jeffrey Epstein case and urged the United States Department of Justice to “immediately release any remaining materials referring to, mentioning, or containing a photograph of Bill Clinton.” He also mentioned that the refusal to do so would confirm the “widespread suspicion” that the Department of Justice’s actions thus far are not about “transparency, but about insinuation.”
