‘These fools can’t manage economy’: Donald Trump simp Scott Bessent just blamed immigrants for rising beef prices
It’s become common knowledge that Donald Trump and his devoted Republican followers are often in denial about many things. One of the aspects they have been particularly dismissive of in the last few months is the impact of Trump’s aggressive tariff policies on the United States economy and, consequently, on its people.
One person who has boldly defended the Trump tariffs on various platforms, including major news outlets, in the last few weeks is Scott Bessent, the Secretary of the Treasury. Bessent has never tried to hide his unwavering loyalty to Donald Trump, but lately, he has been going to extreme lengths to defend him, which makes him appear desperate and foolish. A clear example of him doing the same occurred during one of Bessent’s recent appearances on Fox News, where he claimed that high beef prices in the United States were due to immigration and blamed immigrants for bringing infected animals with them, which exposed the existing American cattle population to harmful diseases. He also stated that they had to stop the importation of Mexican beef for the same reason, as it was allegedly carrying screw worms, and they needed to ensure that infected beef did not enter the supply chain.
Scott Bessent has faced significant backlash since the video of him blaming the rising beef prices on the immigrant population in the United States went viral on social media. One user on X (formerly Twitter) said:
“This what giving power to MAGA feels like .. these fools can’t manage economy, and put blame on others for their own mistakes.”
Another individual stated:
“Listening to Trump Administration officials like Scott Bessent, who claims beef prices are high because immigrants are smuggling diseased cattle is stupid. In Nazi Germany, they blamed everything on Jews. In Trumpamerika, they blame everything on immigrants, especially Hispanics. You have to have a screw loose yourself if you listen to Trumpers…”
Many others shared similar views, calling out Scott Bessent for his lies and holding the Trump Administration accountable for being anti-American.
