All About Megan Thee Stallion’s Guest Appearance on ‘She-Hulk’ on Disney+

We will all kill for you, Megan Thee Stallion

One of the biggest Marvel series of 2022 is Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, starring Tatiana Maslany as the titular counterpart to Bruce Banner’s He-Hulk. (Although I’ve heard some people just call him the Hulk. Sounds confusing, I dunno.) So far, the series has been a colossal hit, following Jen Walters (Maslany) as she leads the superhuman division at a prestigious law firm. Jen fights off demons and amped-up influencers while representing various heroes and villains in court. And one of her clients is none other than rapper and certified goddess Megan Thee Stallion.

Buckle up for the saga of how Stallion’s involvement in She-Hulk was accidentally leaked months before the episode aired, plus a full breakdown of the part she plays in Jen’s life!

A leak in a stunt double’s resume

Megan Thee Stallion has had a meteoric rise to fame as a musician. She first got her start on social media, gaining followers for her freestyling videos, and released her first studio album, Good News, in November 2020. She’s known for collaborating with Cardi B on their hit single “WAP,” and her latest single, “Thot Shit,” was nominated for the 2022 Grammy for Best Rap Performance.

On March 31st, The Direct posted the resume for stunt actor Marché Day. Listed on the resume, under She-Hulk, was the role “Stunt Double: Megan Thee Stallion.” The screenshot on The Direct linked to Day’s website, but shortly afterward, an updated version of her resume just said “TBA” instead of Megan Thee Stallion. At the time, it seemed possible that the resume was doctored by someone looking to start a juicy rumor, but it was equally plausible that Day changed the resume after realizing that she’d leaked info that hadn’t been announced yet.

Meanwhile, a rumor began to circulate that Stallion would play a “fictionalized version of herself” in multiple episodes of She-Hulk. The YouTube channel Everything Always first reported the rumor, with Cosmic Circus quickly picking it up.

An interview confirms the rumor

In an August 29 interview with The Cut, Stallion confirmed that she would have a guest appearance in She-Hulk. Although the interview didn’t include any details about the cameo, her co-star from P-Valley J. Alphonse Nicholson teased that Stallion would be “whooping ass and fighting” in the series.

Megan Thee Stallion’s long-awaited cameo finally happens

Finally, in Episode 3 of She-Hulk, “The People vs. Emil Blonsky,” Stallion made her MCU debut. In this episode, Jen’s old coworker Dennis gets scammed by a Light Elf named Runa. Dennis is a misogynistic dipshit, and when Runa shapeshifts into the likeness of Megan and comes onto him, Dennis believes with all his heart that he’s successfully seduced one of the music industry’s biggest stars. Runa then proceeds to scam him out of $175,000 worth of gifts, including a Volkswagen Passat.

In terms of Stallion herself, we first see her in a YouTube video when she (or, rather, her stunt double Day) slams someone to the ground. “Stallion” then shapeshifts back into Runa, who giggles and says, “I’m not really Megan Thee Stallion!”

Then, in a later scene, Dennis and Runa are in the courtroom and Jen is testifying on Dennis’s behalf. When Dennis’s lawyer Pug asks Jen if Dennis would really believe that he was dating Stallion instead of just role-playing with Runa, Jen says yes. Dennis is absolutely delusional enough to think he was dating a rap star. Dennis’s verifiable and well-documented stupidity wins him the lawsuit, and Runa gets slapped with jailtime for briefly impersonating the judge.

Then the camera cuts to the back of the courtroom. Stallion herself is there in a fabulous pink suit, laughing and fanning herself. “There’s only one Megan Thee Stallion!” she proclaims.

But we all know that wasn’t the best part of the episode. You’ve probably seen the memes and hot takes by now. The best part was that scene. The twerking scene.

In the end-credit scene, Jen and Megan are in Jen’s office, where Jen is having Megan sign a contract. It turns out that Jen is taking Megan on as a client. They celebrate the new partnership by dancing to Megan’s song “Body” and showing off their formidable twerking skills. “You’re way more fun than my last lawyer!” Megan says.

“I would kill for you!” Jen responds.

Megan crosses her fingers into an X. “Rein it in,” she says.

Will Megan Thee Stallion return for future cameos? Right now, all signs point to yes. There’s the leak that claimed she’d be in multiple episodes, plus the fact that she’s now one of Jen’s clients. Stay tuned!
