There’s one thing that Donald Trump truly and deeply cares about. No, not the American people. His ratings. And therefore he’s going to be very mad that Joe Biden beat him in the ratings for their respective convention speeches.
That’s right, Biden’s speech at the DNC beat Trump’s by over a million viewers in cable rating. While Biden drew in 14.67 viewers across CNN, MSNBC, and Fox, Trump only brought in 13.48. Ouch. Let’s just savor for a moment how incredibly angry Trump has to be about that.
But that’s just on cable, right, maybe Trump did better on broadcast? Between viewers on ABC, NBC and CBS for the speech, Trump garnered 5.43 million viewers, while Biden won 7.11 million.
Overall, 23.6 million people watched Joe Biden’s speech on television, compared to 21.6 for Trump. That’s still a million less than Hilary Clinton beat Donald Trump by in the popular vote.

Oh, and it’s worth noting that both of these totals are way down from 2016, but Trump’s is farther down. In 2016, Trump won the viewer race with 32.2 million, to Clinton’s 29.8. So that means while the democrats lost 6.2 million viewers (and that may have been made up for with live streaming), Trump lost 10.6 million.
Like I said, let’s just bask.
