“How Ant-Man and the Wasp Should Have Ended” Has a Lot of Questions About the Snapture

"Oh you know, science, molecules, convenience..."

Hot on the heels of the Ant-Man and the Wasp Honest Trailer comes How It Should Have Ended’s animated take on the Paul Rudd-starring sequel. As with all HISHE videos, this one features solid animation, goofy voices, and legit questions about what all is going on in the film.

The video pokes fun at Luis’s use of self-narrated flashbacks, while taking the film to task over certain choices. Like most of us, HISHE wonders how Janet van Dyne survived in the Quantum Realm, namely where she got her clothes, what does she eat, how does she breathe, and how does she still look so damn good? Janet explains away her survival as, “Oh you know, science, molecules, convenience…”, which my new catch-all response anytime someone asks me to explain anything.

HISHE also questions the rooftop experiment happening at the end of the film, as Scott Lang wonders whether he should be helping the Avengers save Earth or assist the Pym family with their research project. And it’s a legitimate point: he’s no longer under house arrest, and the rest of the Avengers are fighting an intergalactic battle in Wakanda. So why are he and Hope still messing around with a science experiment in the back of a van? Aside from the team screaming “RESEARCH!” at him, Scott also doesn’t have a way to get to Wakanda, as Siri tells him that information is “not available”.

After the Snapture turns the Pym family into dust, we see Superman and Batman waiting at a diner for Ant-Man and The Wasp (double date?) As the DC heroes watch Nick Fury get dusted through the window, Superman gets dusted as well and Batman begins to fall apart before screaming himself back into existence. Batman promises to avenge Superman, but when Kal-El’s dust starts rising (like it does at the end of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice), Batman says “his dust is rising, he’ll be back.”

What did you think of the latest HISHE video? I, for one, would love to see more Marvel/DC crossover shenanigans.
