Things We Saw Today: Rick and Morty S4 May Not Air Until Late 2019—Wubba Lubba Dub Dub

Sad news for everyone, we might not be getting any Rick and Morty right now to hold us down as the cold hand of winter slaps us all in the face. Writer for the show, Ryan Ridley said that as far as he knows no one is working on the show yet script-wise.  “They really take their time,” Ridley said. “I never understood why everybody — all parties, Dan, Justin, and Adult Swim — didn’t get their shit together, and make the show fast; I just don’t get it. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m sure they all have their reasons.”

Due to that Ridley said that he would be surprised if the fourth season debuted before late 2019 considering how long it takes to write, storyboard, and animate each episode. I mean just thinking about how much work it would have taken to do “Pickle Rick” makes me want to hyperventilate.

Still, that’s what re-runs are for I guess. We can just watch a constant loop of Bojack HorsemanRick and Morty and Big Mouth until 2019.

  • Stephen Dorff has been cast opposite Mahershala Ali and Carmen Ejogo in the third season of True Detective. This new season, that we hope will be good, promises a “macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.” (via Deadline)
  • Cardi B inches one more step towards breaking all the records as she now joins The Beatles and Ashanti as the first rapper and third artist ever to have her first three Billboard Hot 100 singles in the Top 10 at once. Here is hoping she will become the first female rapper ever to win best Rap Song in 2018. Kendrick can literally have every other award but that one. I mean that speech. Ugh. Living for it already. • Another reason why you should be watching SMILF it’s creator/writer/director/mastermind Frankie Shaw used the show’s finale to do a giant f-you to Woody Allen and show support to Dylan Farrow. (via Indiewire)
