Listen to These Awesome Songs About Dogs & Help Dogs Affected by Hurricane Harvey

Recommended Videos

When a natural disaster hits, the impact on animals is often an afterthought. But when people evacuate, like with Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, it can be difficult or sometimes impossible to take pets with them. Sometimes we get adorable stories, like this plane full of puppies, travelling from Houston to San Diego to make room in local shelters–

But there are still lots of animals that need help. So here’s a cool way you can contribute. A bunch of awesome musicians made an album full of songs about some good dogs (psst, they’re all good dogs) titled, appropriately, Dog Songs. All the artists are giving up their proceeds, which will instead go to the ASPCA to help dogs affected by Hurricane Harvey. Also, it’s only $8.

Some of the Good Dogs that got their own loving tributes include Santa’s Little Helper, the This Is Fine dog, and Clifford the Big Red Dog (as performed by site fave The Doubleclicks!).

If you need me, I’ll just be here crying over this Nerfherder song about Carrie Fisher and Gary, on repeat, forever.

You can listen to Dog Songs over at Bandcamp and get the whole album for only $8.
