Master of None‘s Dev Still Has Trouble Finding Love in New Season 2 Trailer

Dude goes full Eat, Pray, Love.

When last we saw Master of None‘s Dev (Aziz Ansari), he was on his way out of the country after a pretty heavy breakup with someone he really thought he’d be spending the rest of his life with. You know, sometimes fleeing tends to follow heartbreak, and judging by the look of this Master of None season 2 trailer, we’ll be watching as Dev goes full Eat, Pray, Love in Italy with his friends and family.

The trailer reveals that this upcoming season is absolutely littered with stars, most of whom are returning favorites from season one. That includes: Eric Wareheim, Kelvin Yu, and of course, Dev’s parents (who are actually also Ansari’s parents). Newcomers include Bobby Cannavale, Angela Bassett, John Legend, and a heck of a lot more stars, if the guest star list from last season is anything to go by.

What’s also obvious from the trailer is that Dev’s still having trouble with searching for a significant other. Such was the guiding narrative thread that was sewn into the show’s first season, and Dev’s problems in maintaining a relationship made for some real bittersweet Netflix watching. I really thought his relationship with Rachel would actually end up doing pretty well–shows how much I know, I guess.

Frankly, I’m looking forward to watching this next season. I loved the heck out of Master of None‘s season one, and I’ve got high hopes here.

You know I’ll be watching when it comes out on Netflix on May 12th.
