Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Your day is already better than Paul Ryan’s. The U.S. House Speaker and chaotic evil gnome hoisted what is being called “the worst pint of Guinness imaginable” at the Friends of Ireland luncheon and all of Ireland promptly lost its mind. The Irish have strong opinions about a good pull of Guinness and this was…not that.

Also can we talk about Paul Ryan’s terrible tie. And the fact that he gave lip service to his own family’s Irish roots while working with a President who won on xenophobia and is attempting oppressive anti-immigration policies? Can we talk about that? (via The BBC)

    • In more cheerful news about venomous creatures, Sony has set a release date for its Venom movie: October 5, 2018. Spiderman’s symbiotic foe won’t have ties to the rest of the MCU (and we don’t know who’s playing him yet), but I bet the costume will be pretty badass.

    • Taraji P. Henson says she wants to be a Marvel superhero. Someone get that woman a cape, stat.
    • Clueless, the movie that defined my adolescence, is getting the comic book treatment from BOOM! Studios. Even better, the comic will be penned by Amber Benson (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) and Sarah Kuhn (“Heroine Complex”).
