It’s always been kinda hard to pin down Archer when it comes to setting. For the most part, the show is designed to feel like a 1960s spy show, but there are anachronisms all over the place. In the upcoming eighth season, Archer: Dreamland, our favorite spies-turned-drug-dealers-turned-CIA-lackeys-turned-PIs are headed to Hollywood in the 1940s.
If you were watching Archer last season, you may remember that it ended with . So the title of the eighth season, Archer: Dreamland, is important. Is the entire season basically going to be what’s going on in Archer’s brain during that time? Or does the “dreamland” of the title refer to Hollywood itself. Both? One thing’s for sure: I’m already looking forward to seeing the characters’ 1940s looks!
Polygon reports that the season will revolve around Archer’s search for his partner’s killer:
The case proves to be more difficult than expected after Archer quickly gets mixed up in a deadly game of tug of war between Los Angeles’ most powerful crime bosses. Every clue leads Archer further away from his goal and deeper into a mystery involving kidnapping, prostitution and drug addiction.
Yup. Sounds like Archer. Archer: Dreamland premieres on its new home at FXX in the spring.
