Kara Can’t Hold Her “Club Soda” in New “Supergirl Lives” Sneak Peek

Recommended Videos

Now that the mega superhero four-way crossover event “Invasion” is over, it’s back to business as usual in National City for Kara Danvers. According to a new clip from episode 2.09 titled “Supergirl Lives,” one of the first things on the agenda is visiting a bar in what appears to be the middle of the day to sip on some club soda. The short video comes courtesy of We Got This Covered, and follows the events of a failed coup by the Dominators.

It’s unclear why she’s in that bar in the first place but, on the plus side, Mon-El (played by Vampire Diaries alum Chris Wood) has found himself a new job as a bartender. However, he’s not very good at it and gives Kara what I believe is alcohol instead of the club soda she asked for. Still, it’s nice to see Kara back in her environment and not subject to crude remarks from Arrow’s Wild Dog.

The episode was directed by Kevin Smith, who also took the helm for The Flash’s “Killer Frost” this season. According to Screen Rant, “Supergirl Lives” is a nod to the ’90s film Superman Lives which he was commissioned to write, Tim Burton was to direct and Nicolas Cage was to star in. An official synopsis isn’t yet available but it is slated to air on January 23, 2017.
